Welcoming Kellen Michael to the Family

Phew! It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me! But hey! I’m back and I brought a friend with me!

Everyone meet:

Kellen Michael Price

This little dude was so squished in my belly, but just did not want to budge! I was finally induced a week past my due date and he was born on Monday May 16th!

I was induced on Sunday night and labored alllll night long without an epidural, any sleep, or pretty much any progress being made. Then in the morning I was able to get an epidural, then have my water broken by my doctor. Three hours later, I pushed a couple times & then he was in my arms! He weighed 8 lb 3 oz and was 21” long!

While I wouldn’t want to be induced again because of the long, drawn out labor, if I only have to push for a few minutes, then maybe it would be worth it.

We were lucky enough that my sister had just graduated from college & had recently cancelled a trip with friends that she had already taken work off from, so she was able to make the drive from Utah to be in the delivery room with us and take photos! I highly recommend having someone take photos if you’re about to have a baby! Even if it’s not a professional photographer. Any photo of that special moment is worth it!

He’s as squishy as can be & we were able to go home the next day. The next week, we were lucky enough to have Ilennis Martinez come and take family & newborn photos for us in our home! She was AMAZING & I am absolutely in love with the photos.

We are so grateful for our little guy and already feel like he’s been with us forever! The newborn days are long, hard, and exhausting, so I’m soaking up the cuddly newborn snuggles and reminding myself that the not so fun things, and the amazing things we’re experiencing now will be gone before we know it!
