Three Ingredient Sausage Gravy
Jump to recipe
Sausage gravy is one of the simplest things to make & always a crowd favorite! Using only three ingredients, a little bit of time, and something to smother in it, you’ll have a 5 star breakfast waiting for you!
The only three things in this are pork sausage, flour, and milk! That’s it!
Add your sausage to a large skillet & break it up. I usually keep mine at medium heat or maybe a bit higher.
Brown the sausage until you see little crispy brown bits. That’s where the flavor is!
Then add 1/4c of flour to the pan and stir until it is absorbed by the sausage drippings. Cook it over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.
Then pour the milk in the pan. Stir it frequently, making sure to scrape the little bits off of the bottom & sides of the pan. Cook over medium - medium high heat until thickened to your liking.
It should be nice & thick. Remove it from the heat.
Then top your favorite biscuits or (my personal favorite choice) hash browns! Store it in the fridge & reheat in the microwave, adding a bit of milk if needed!
