Gifting Goodies (Affordably)

I have always wanted to be the friend & neighbor who gave out neighbor gifts at the holiday, but I never have had my crap together enough to do it(3 kids & a business will do that to ya). But it’s something I’ve always wanted to do! So this year I’m determined to make it happen & I’m going to make a series of things that I’m gifting that you can too! AND they’re going to be affordable! because I’d rather be able to bless more people with the same amount of money spent than less.

Not all of them will be Christmas specific, so feel free to adapt them for birthdays, other holidays or just when you’re thinking of someone! I will be adding to this post as I make them!

1: Sourdough Bread - $1 Each

Sourdough Christmas Gift, Christmas Tree sourdough, neighbor gifts, cheap holiday gifts, gifting sourdough, affordable neighbor gifts, cute homemade gifts, home baked gift

Feel free to use whatever sourdough recipe you usually use. This is mine. Or you could use the same concept with regular bread or a sourdough loaf you bought from the local bakery!

Here is a reel I made showing how I scored the bread to have little Christmas trees on it and this reel shows how I packaged it up!

Packaging:

Paper Bread Bags with Window

Bakers Twine

2: Candy Cane Marshmallows - $1.75 each

Candy cane marshmallows, homemade marshmallows, neighbor gifts, holiday gift, holiday treat

These are something I remember making with my dad growing up. We would make so many flavors, but I love the candy cane marshmallows for the holidays.

Recipe: All recipes are pretty dang similar and this one happens to be exactly the same as the one I grew up making so for time’s sake, I’m linking it for you, but it’s just vanilla flavored.

To make them candy cane flavored, I crushed up 8 candy canes or about 1/3c crushed. Half of it I added into the marshmallows during the last minute with the vanilla and the rest I mixed in with the powdered sugar/corn starch.

Watch how I made them here. I put 15 marshmallows in each bag and got 4 bags with a couple leftover to eat.

I got all the supplies from Walmart and it was super affordable! Everything is linked here.

The gift tag I made in Canva and here’s a template for it.
